Dan Dodge — Cofounder and Chief Executive Officer
Recognized for innovation and leadership by organizations like Frost & Sullivan and FORTUNE magazine, Dan Dodge has built a global reputation as a technology visionary. A pioneer in the embedded systems industry, Mr. Dodge has created software that controls everything from in-car infotainment systems and smartphones to nuclear power plants and medical devices.
Mr. Dodge has garnered various tributes, including the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal and the prestigious J.W. Graham medal in Computing and Innovation from the University of Waterloo. He has also been acclaimed a Hero of Manufacturing by FORTUNE magazine.
Mr. Dodge is a passionate advocate of software standards and was a founding steward of the Eclipse consortium, an open-source software initiative.
Mr. Dodge holds a Master's degree in mathematics.
Derek Kuhn — Vice President, Sales and Marketing
As vice president of sales and marketing, Derek Kuhn is responsible for developing strategies that increase market share and drive revenue growth in QNX Software Systems' core and emerging markets.
Prior to joining QNX, Mr. Kuhn held senior positions at Alcatel-Lucent, including vice president of emerging technology and media, and vice president of strategy for the Americas region in the office of the CTO/CMO. As a global business lead, he was responsible for the company's ecosystem of emerging technologies, including 4G mobile connectivity.
Prior to the merger of Alcatel and Lucent, Mr. Kuhn was Alcatel's senior director of strategic solutions in the office of the CTO; he was also the company's primary liaison with the content community.
From 2003 to 2006, Mr. Kuhn served as chairman of the Broadband Content Delivery Forum, where he helped grow the organization to twice its original size. From 2008 to 2010, he sat as a board member of the University of Southern California's Entertainment Technology Center in the School of Cinematic Arts.
In 2010, Mr. Kuhn won Alcatel-Lucent's CEO award; in 2005, he won a Forty under 40 award from the Ottawa Business Journal. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
John Wall — Vice President, Engineering and Services
Mr. Wall has been an integral member of the QNX team since 1993. He has held a variety of roles within the organization with increasing levels of responsibility in different facets of software development, board support development, and custom software engineering.
As vice president of engineering, Mr. Wall and his team work with customers from around the world to develop and customize sophisticated embedded systems.
Mr. Wall is a graduate of Carleton University in Ottawa and holds a Bachelor of Engineering (BEng), Electrical and Electronics Engineering.
